Calling Planet Earth

“Calling Planet Earth” focuses on the relationship between humans and nature.

Our planet is bearing the heavy burden of the footprints that we – as the “crown of creation” – are leaving behind. Technological progress has indeed led to prosperity, but is now taking its toll. Global warming, environmental disasters and the loss of biodiversity have become a bitter reality. Do we need to “save nature”? On the other hand, does asking this question imply that we see ourselves as superior to it, rather than part of it?

And does this mindset prevent us from facing up to the impending loss of our very foundation for life? We invite you to join us as we tackle these issues film by film, frame by frame. Ultimately, we can only meet the major challenges that will face us in the years ahead by accepting ourselves as part of a global, ecological network and beginning to act accordingly.
