Male+ Voices From Estonia
Over many years, a long list of male authors has developed in Estonia. These are the juiciest picks from experienced creators who continue to explore new grounds despite being firmly rooted in their respective fields. Having long left their own childhood games behind them, they now handle weighty matters as if they were child’s play. I also included a bright younger star. Indeed, it was about time to spotlight their female peers – they too are successively bearing fruit and enriching the cinematic texture with each new work. This way, “Male” has been expanded to “Male+”.
Even if the authors in this film programme have not always graced themselves with their actions, they are represented here because particularly in film we need to continue to push the limits.
