SAIA – Call for Entries

For the seventh time, the SAIA will take place on the occasion of the Fantoche Industry Day and provide a showcase and platform for animated Swiss commercial and commissioned films. A jury of three experts will screen and evaluate the films received, curate a shortlist and select a worthy winning film. The SAIA - Swiss Animation Industry Award will be presented in collaboration with our presenting partner Swissfilm Association and will take place on Thursday, 4 September 2025, following the Fantoche Industry Day. The winner will receive the Fantoche trophy for the best Swiss animated commission and a free submission to Edi.25 at the award ceremony. 

Submission information 

• The deadline for submission is 27 June 2025. 
• The number of works that can be submitted and their duration are not limited 
• All commissioned productions completed after 30 June 2024 and with a significant Swiss contribution (Swiss production company, execution in Switzerland) are eligible. 
• Submission is free of charge and takes place via Filmfreeway 
• A jury of three experts will define a short list and select a winning film for this year’s SAIA 
• The award will be presented at an award ceremony during the SAIA - Swiss Animation Industry Award on 4 September 2025.
