Let's Talk: Animated Films on the Egyptian Scene
“Let’s Talk” invites you to discover the Egyptian animation scene – a space for exploring the interplay between a longstanding media history, popular childhood imagery, cultural memory and new creative voices.
The discussion will focus on films and perspectives that illustrate how animation in Egypt entertains, educates and negotiates identity while responding to production realities, funding, training and censorship. The discussion will examine aesthetic developments, regional collaboration and the prospects for a scene that is locally rooted while seeking to gain greater international visibility.
