Meet the Artist: Cheng-Hsu Chung
Cheng-Hsu Chung is a Taiwanese animation artist and director currently based in Berlin, Germany. Chung’s artistic practice focuses on using surreal imagery and character performances in animation to articulate the changing nature of emotions, modern romantic relationships and the experiences of queer bodies in today’s queer culture. Working across artistic and commercial contexts, Chung has merged both worlds and created his playful, surreal visual style. As an animation artist and illustrator, his work adds artistry and originality to commercial projects while maintaining a distinctive signature style. His clients include Spotify, Adidas, Nike, Adult Swim, BBC, Warp Records, Bayer, Berliner Zeitung, among many others.
