Jürgen Haas

During his studies at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, Jürgen Haas co-founded the Studio Film Bilder. With his first film, he won the Young Talent awards in Espinho and Stuttgart in 1989, while a music video won him the award for Best Commissioned Film in Annecy in 1998. He has made around 50 animated short films for German children’s television and worked for many years as a director for scenographic and educational media in museums. From 1995 to 2007, Jürgen Haas taught at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and from 2005, at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he took over as Head of BA Animation. In 2021, the Animation degree programme was presented with the Best Animation School Award at Animafest Zagreb.
