Sharing ideas & getting together socially

A big part of Fantoche is interaction and exchange. In the “Meet the Artists” section, the competition filmmakers respond to viewers' questions. In “Game Talks”, creative designers and theorists are given a platform to offer deeper insights into the interfaces and intersections of film animation and game design.

Meet the Artists

Meet the Artists
Fantoche is not just a place where films are shown. We also see our festival as a platform for meeting and exchange for laymen and professionals. In “Meet the Artists,” which is presented, film producers from the “International Competition” and the “Swiss Competition” meet daily for relaxed chats and answer the audience’s questions.

Game Talks

Game Talks
In the “Game Talks” we give priority to discussion and delve into interfaces and intersections between animated film and game design. The key theme this year is the observation of aesthetics. We investigate how animated film producers and game developers find their visual language and what their sources of inspiration are. We look at universally accepted metaphors which have an impact on game developers and filmmakers and want to find out how the aesthetics of computer games and especially of “Independent Games” let themselves be classified culturally and in terms of art history.
